School is out, sun is in, and we at Battat are gearing up to offer you a selection of summer activities for your toddlers to enjoy this sunny season. Each week, we’ll be coming to you with a new and fun activity that’s made with little adventurers in mind. Whether you’re kicking it back in your backyard, playing at the beach, heading to the park, hopping in the car, or going camping, we’ve got your kids covered this summer!
Truck Art
Turn your toddler’s toy trucks and cars into art! All it takes is just a few easy steps.
First things first, gather your materials:
-
Your favorite Battat trucks – fire truck, dump truck, monster trucks, and more!
-
Washable paint in different colors
-
Trays or paper plates
-
Big sheets of blank paper
-
Big plastic sheet, tarp, or cloth
-
Tape
Then move on to the setup:
-
Either clear up the living room floor or find a flat spot in the backyard.
-
Lay out the plastic sheet, tarp, or cloth first – this is to protect the surface underneath!
-
Place the blank sheets of paper on top and secure them with tape at each corner.
-
Pour the paint into trays or plastic plates and include your kiddos into the process! Have them choose the colors or color combinations to make their masterpieces with.
-
Roll out the toy trucks, dip the wheels into the paint, and start creating! Go for long tracks, drive around in circles, make wheel stamps, and so much more!
You can also turn this colorful activity into an educational exercise! Keep the setup as is, but write big letters and numbers or draw simple shapes on the blank sheet of paper before letting your little artist create. You can then encourage them to trace the letters, numbers, and shapes using the trucks and paint! Who says fun and learning can’t be friends?
No matter how you decide to play, we hope you have a ton of artsy fun – just don’t forget to share your child’s masterpieces with us! We always love to see how your kids use their imagination while playing with our toys, so show us their creations by tagging us @battattoys!
